Levens School is a small village school with approximately 80 children on roll and aims to provide an education of the highest possible standard. It maintains its feel as a close and happy community yet also looks towards wider issues.
Our success as a school is not an accident but the result of the dedicated work of the staff, the enthusiasm of the children, and the support of the Governors, parents, Church and wider community.
Levens School is a Voluntary Controlled Church of England Primary School serving the rural village of Levens, and surrounding hamlets of the Lyth valley. Children begin school in September at 4 years old, and transfer to Secondary after July at age 11.
The attractive main building, with several interesting architectural features, is constructed of local limestone and dates from prior to 1860.
The school has been much extended and improved over recent years to provide excellent teaching accommodation, including a fully equipped, networked computer room. Each class make full use of an interactive whiteboard and audio-visual equipment.
We are pleased to have the use of the community playing field facilities which include:
large and small grassed play areas
good level 7-a-side football pitch
tennis courts and multi-use games area
children’s play equipment, swings, etc.
- the school hosts the YoYo afterschool club
To the rear of the school and playing fields are extensive views of Morecambe Bay and the Kent Estuary.
