Jonah – A Fishy Tale

We finished our summer term in style with a junior performance of Jonah – A Fishy Tale. Acting and singing with gusto, telling the tale of Jonah and the Whale. Thanks to Aggie for the photos.

Visit from Tim Farron

tim-visitWe had a visit from Tim Farron, our local MP and Liberal Democrat leader, he was joined by our local councillor Annie Rawlinson. They participated in mock parliament with Scafell Class and listened to the classes concerns about speeding traffic in the village. He also visited the other classes and got a flavour of the school.

Tim said: “Annie and I had a fantastic visit to Levens Primary School. We discussed the role of both local and national politics, and it was good to hear the students’ views. The pupils showed great enthusiasm for their projects, in particular the work they had been doing about speeding. It was wonderful to see how much the students cared about their community, and their determination to make a positive difference.”

You can see more on Tim’s website.

Bowfell Walk

We had a great day out! We took Sam Bear on an adventure to Rydal Caves, it was a bit rocky and uphill but we all made it. A quick snack was needed before making our way along the path to Grasmere Lake. It was a beautiful view of the mountains.
There was plenty of time to run around and paddle in the water before having lunch. Having gained some engery for the walk back, we headed along the edge of Rydal Water.

Sports Day

The sun shone for this years sports day. We did a circus of team activities followed by some flat races. It was a hard fought competition but this years winners were Yellow Team.
