Nursery Consultation

In September 2016, nursery provision for children aged 3 and over was introduced every morning of the week between 8.35am and 11.45am. The children are integrated within an Early Years and Year 1 classroom and designated outdoor learning space. We currently have 5 children attending nursery for some or all sessions each week; the provision has been a great success. We are therefore now considering extending this provision into the afternoons by offering some all-day sessions each week and to enable access to those with 30 hour entitlement should the uptake from parents be sufficient to make the proposal viable. This consultation with stakeholders is designed to ascertain the level of support for an extension to our school based provision. Following this consultation, there will be a meeting in school on Tuesday 13th March at 6pm for parents to learn more about current and potential future plans.

The Levens provision would continue to be for children from the term following their 3rd birthday. Your child could attend mornings or all day sessions that include lunchtimes. In September, children attending nursery would not be able to access our after-school provision in YoYo; but this might be possible in the future.

All children aged 3 or 4 are entitled to 15 hours nursery education a week; some families are entitled to 30hours a week. Families who qualify for 30hours will:
• have a child aged 3 or 4
• parents who work more than 16hours a week;
• an annual income of no more that £100,000.
If you are unsure about whether you are entitled to 30hours childcare; use this link to calculate your eligibility:

We look forward to receiving your feedback. Please complete the form below to indicate your interest in the provision and return this form to school as soon as possible and no later than Monday 5th March 2018.
