Levens Tea Club is a very special club where all our year 5 pupils get the opportunity to set up and run a pop-up restaurant in our dining hall throughout the summer term. Each week, the children plan, organise, prepare and serve a two course meal for invited guests to enjoy. These privileged people include their own families, governors, staff, volunteers in school and many more. In the final week, at the end of the summer term, the children cook a very special leavers' feast for all our year six pupils.
During these sessions the children learn a range of new skills and deepen their knowledge and understanding of food hygiene, nutrition and the benefits of choosing to eat a varied and healthy diet. This club supports and enriches our school curriculum and particularly the requirements of the programmes of study for design and technology at key stage two.
The children enjoy this special opportunity to learn and have fun with their friends outside the school day and each child receives a folder of photographs, recipes, feedback, comments and menus.
